I took the photo on top of Table Mountain which overlooks the city of Cape Town, South Africa.
In the top left corner of the photo, the black lines are steel cables for the gondolas/cable cars which run, weather permitting, btwn the peak and the station below (which is located on the road mid-way up the mountain). The prominent peak of the left is called Lion’s Head. Following the Lion’s Head ridge toward Table Bay, you can see a white circular structure. It is the Cape Town Stadium where some of the 2010 FIFA World Cup soccer games were played.
I have posted more photos and info abt Table Mountain at lotusandcedar:
旅遊南非洲 (十): 開普敦 桌山 / Travel to South Africa (Part 10): Table Mountain, Cape Town
BTW, instead of taking the cable car, I took the challenge of hiking up Table Mountain via the Platteklip Gorge trail. It is steep at the top but is not technically difficult at all. You just need to be in good shape if you want to do it in abt an hour.
thanks a lot for your information, Haricot !! and yes we see the stadium from here : D
Michelle: Bienvenue !!
What a great picture. I thought it was Rio at a glance but knew it can’t be because of the cables. Interesting how I couldn’t tell the stadium after following the world cup so closely for a month!
Matthew: Thx !! Of course, if I had shown you this photo: “Travel to South Africa Part 8_FIFA", then you would have recognized it right-a-way !!!
St Lucia, Caribbean 🙂
Michelle: Désolé, non 😦
